The Gen 1 (monoshock) XV750 is considered to be a classic platform for a café build after Greg Hageman brought this to everyone’s attention with his amazing XV build back in 2013

This bike has undergone a full Nut & Bolt restoration by DNA Custom Cycles and has taken over 12 months to complete.

Build details below however this bike needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Has featured at the Throttle Roll Street party and won Best Exhaust at Surfside Show and Shine

An immaculate Period Vintage 1979 KZ750 “Coffin Tank” was sourced from the USA and sent to the fibreglass guru to have a mould created to replicate the shape for a matching rear cowl. Colour is: Manhattan Grey.

A custom rear sub frame was then fabricated, you will note it has removable pillion rear sets and the rear cowl is also interchangeable with a pillion seat to make it a pillion capable Café Racer – This is a rarity in itself.

Seats trimmed by Bad Arse trimmer in Sydney.

Located under the seat is a custom low profile battery box that contains the electrics and 2 x 4 Cell antigravity batteries linked in Parallel, these batteries are low profile and have plenty of CCA’s for the application.

The frame was stripped of any unnecessary tabs and tubes, the factory air box holes were also filled as this project was destined for a single carb from its inception, frame was then blasted and powder coated in Satin Black.

The original engine was swapped for a low KM Gen 2 unit that gives this build the reliability it deserves. (No box of rocks starter here!)

2001 R1 USD front end conversion, fork legs were disassembled and anodised black before re assembly with 50mm extenders, new seals and fresh oil.

(the Extreme Creations extenders ensure it handles correctly and doesn’t want to fall over in corners)

Custom front fender and brackets were fabricated to keep it legal too!

BIP Single carb manifold & TM40-6 pumper carb with K&N filter fitted

An award winning Hand built 304 stainless tuned length 2” exhaust into a single spark muffler with removable baffle is a show stopper! This exhaust looks and sounds phenomenal!

A 5 spoke 2006 FZR6 front wheel was sourced to match the Gen 2 rear wheel, this rear wheel not only looks better but the offset means a 160 can be fitted with ease.

Michellin Commander 2 tyres (Front 120/90/17 & Rear 150/90/15)

Motogadget Chrono Classic speedo, (black face) With a custom mount under upper yoke.

Wilbers rear shock was fitted to make sure the rear was as compliant as the front.

Custom Braided brake lines to suit the new front end

The standard (ugly) XV Rearset brackets were omitted and replaced with Twig TT custom plates that hold Ryco rearsets & custom linkages,. These are much better looking and allow for a more comfortable seating position than using the passenger pegs for the rider which is what most XV Cafe builds end up using

Bullit LED indicators were fitted with an upgraded flasher to ensure the flash rate was correct.

New 2006 R1 switchblocks wired into Gen 2 XV harness.
