The MV Agusta F3 in civilian clothing is the hottest performing middleweight sportbike in production today. And the limited-production RC edition is a legitimate celebration of this MV Agusta’s superior qualities: engine performance potential (particularly in 800cc form), chassis response, safety, and the fit, finish and quality of its components.

The graphics accurately duplicate those of factory racers, and they include the AMG logo and the signatures of both Cluzel and Zanetti. From a technical point of view, the bikes have stock tuning, their three-cylinder engines delivering a claimed 148 hp as an 800.

The 2016 MV Agusta F3 RC was only limited to 350 numbered units: 100 in 675cc form, and 250 in 800cc versions.

The F3 RC engine is unique in the automotive scenario and universally regarded as the most advanced and powerful mid-sized power unit ever built. It is an in-line unit with three cylinders tilted 35° to the front with double overhead camshaft timing system, with four valves per cylinder, all titanium.

The ultra-light unit (it weighs only 52 kg) is packed with radical technological features such as a closed deck shell-cast crankcase with integral bores, the MVICS system and the adoption of titanium intake and exhaust valves, slipper clutch and above all a counter-rotating crankshaft, an idea taken from MotoGP to reduce inertia during direction changes – improving handling and engine balance.

Its distinctive features include integral water and oil circuits: the pump unit (water and oil) is fully enclosed by the engine and the ducts are all routed inside, contributing to the beautifully uncluttered looks of the most powerful Italian three-cylinder unit ever.

The F3RC was born on the track and is destined to spend most of its life on the road. That’s why it is equipped with a top-quality anodised aluminium cover set to be fitted in place of the rearview mirrors, clutch and brake levers in Ergal with anti-break joint, single-seat tail cover, Ergal running boards and rear racing stand.
