The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R needs little introduction. When it arrived in 1999, it redefined what a production motorcycle could do, combining extraordinary straight-line performance with a level of stability and usability that made it one of the most influential superbikes of its generation.

Forged Carrillo connecting rods and pistons were fitted, with the rotating assembly precision balanced and assembled by Platinum Motorcycles.

The cylinder head was entrusted to PTR Racing, receiving porting work and a custom camshaft, while the gearbox was modified and polished as part of the build. The fuel system was upgraded with ID1050X high-flow injectors, Speedflow braided lines and a matched upgraded external fuel pump.

More recently, the motorcycle received a Haltech ECU and final precision tuning, with the calibration completed in 2026 by Leonard Azzopardi of The Best Drag Racing. The result is a fully documented **311 horsepower**, verified on the dyno at Platinum Motorcycles.

The figures are impressive, but the way this Hayabusa has been built is perhaps more significant. The philosophy throughout has been to retain the timeless appearance and character of the original GSX1300R while hiding serious engineering beneath the surface. Only those who understand these machines will immediately appreciate what lies beneath the bodywork.

With more than **$90,000 reportedly invested in the build** and only approximately 1,000 kilometres travelled since completion, this is an exceptionally well-sorted example of one of Australia's more serious Hayabusa builds.
